The Russian Railway buys computers with Windows and Linux for 1 billion rubles

The Russian Railway is going to buy a lot of computers for the divisions in Moscow and regions for the total amount over 1 billion rubles. Information on the corresponding auction was published at the end of July on the portal of state procurements^[1]. Until the end of August the company is going to define the supplier.

The Russian Railway will spend about one billion rubles for computers from two OS

According to the technical project, the Russian Railway over 16 thousand automated workplaces consisting of the system unit, the monitor, the keyboard and a mouse are required. The cost of each such set is estimated by the company at 64.8 thousand rubles.

Computers should be equipped with processors with clock rate not less than 3.6 GHz, RAM with a capacity from 8 GB (with a possibility of expansion to 32 GB), SSD on 256 GB and also integrated by the module of ensuring self-contained supply (with an opportunity for work from the battery within half an hour). Monitors should be equipped with an IPS matrix. Diagonal of the screen should be not less than 23.8 inches, permission - Full HD. On all equipment the 3-year guarantee is necessary.

On computers two operating systems - Windows 10 Pro RUS (64-bit) with the marker of a license key and Linux which is built in BIOS should be preset. For the last it is required to specify registration number in the register of domestic software. In it, in particular, such OS as Alt Linux, Astra Linux, ROSA, "Red OS", Calculate Linux, "AXIS" and other options of systems based on Linux are submitted.

Computers should be delivered in divisions of the Russian Railway no later than December 25, 2019.
