2019: Projects of civil engineering are registered in a blockchain system
At the beginning of September, 2019 the municipal government of São Paulo (Brazil) announced creation of the register for registration of projects of civil engineering. The technology is created on the basis of a blockchain.
The municipal secretariat of city infrastructure signed the contract with Construtivo company on creation such blockchain system. The city decided to implement a blockchain register after several bridges and roads were closed because of decay though considerable public funds were allocated for their repair. According to the president of Construtivo Marcus Granadeiro, the platform will provide transparency and universal data access of the project for all concerned parties. Thus, all responsible persons will be able to receive online access to any documents at any time that will allow to regulate the project adequately.
Granadeyro added that use of blockchain technology for projects of civil engineering will allow the city to trace a source of problems even if they will arise years later after project completion as the technology provides preserving of all necessary information in an unchangeable type.
In Brazil and in other countries of blockchain technology are even more often applied at the different levels of the government to increase in transparency and efficiency of public administration. In the summer of 2019 the federal government of Brazil started consideration of the bill which will demand from all divisions of local municipalities to advance new technologies, including a blockchain. Also India - in August the government of the Indian state of Maharashtra, the second in value state does not lag behind in the country, began preparation of the isolated environment for testing of blockchain technologies.[1]
