On September 5, 2019, Cian.ru announced the launch of a service that uses artificial intelligence to verify the transparency of transactions between owners and tenants. This is a joint project with the IT company Sumsub, the press service of Cian.ru reported.
The new platform is designed to calculate property fraudsters on both sides: it allows the tenant to avoid criminal schemes, and the owner to check the trustworthiness of the tenant.
Identification of users is carried out according to the passport. Thanks to the algorithm developed by Sumsub specialists, the system receives data on whether the passport was stolen, how many accounts were drawn up for this document, whether the passport holder has problems with the law. Such a check is primarily aimed at cutting off unscrupulous persons trying to resort to fraud when publishing ads.
Apartment owners, in turn, will have the opportunity to assess the trustworthiness of potential tenants. The check is carried out according to the same documents - a photo of a passport and a selfie with it. The system receives information about a person from hundreds of official databases, data from which are aggregated and issued as a generalized assessment: "good," "medium" or "bad."
No personal data is disclosed. The check can be performed directly during the display of the object, it will take 10-15 minutes.
