2019: Restrictions of work in Russia

On July 26, 2019 the State Office of Public Prosecutor of the Russian Federation made the decision on inclusion of the American non-governmental organization of Atlantic Councel in the list of the undesirable organizations. In spite of the fact that the State Office of Public Prosecutor does not open the reason of inclusion of the organization in the list of unwanted, the fact that experts of the Atlantic council actively participated in development of a sanctions packet against Russia is not a secret, in particular, developed sanctions against the energy sector (Nord Stream 2).

2018: Friedman and Aven hold a meeting in council with Americans

The influential analytical center Atlantic Councel in 2018 was selected by the meeting place of the Russian oligarchs, co-owners Alpha Group Mikhail Friedman and Pyotr Aven with the American establishment. Though the meeting took place behind closed doors, the content of a meeting became public. After the meeting the expert of the Atlantic council Anders Aslund recognized existence of the friendly relations with Friedman and Aven. In sanctions lists of the USA Aven and Friedman did not appear.
