2019: Electrical supply of solar power plants for the enterprise in Omsk
On August 30, 2019 the Hevel group reported that together with Unilever signed the agreement on cooperation.
The document provides the subsequent signing of the contract on electrical supply of solar power plants to the enterprise for production of ice cream of Unilever in Omsk. Signatures under the agreement were appended by the CEO of Hevel group Shakhrai Igor and the chief operating officer of Unilever to Nitin Paradzhpa.
The agreement is the final stage of achievement of the goal of Unilever on transition to 100% use of the renewable electric power in Russia for the production needs by 2020. The company managed to transfer three production centers in St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Tula to the wind electric power.
We welcome the solution of Unilever on transition to use of energy from renewable energy sources in Russia. It is always difficult to be the pioneer, but I am convinced that this experience will help our partners to achieve the global goals in the field of sustainable development. Delivery of the "solar" electric power only for the first year of validity will allow to avoid more than 8 thousand tons of emissions of a carbon dioxide gas, |
One of the global purposes of Unilever in the field of sustainable development is decrease in negative impact from our activity on the environment. Transition of the Russian production sites to use of the electric power received from renewable sources will help our company to approach on one serious step full formation of the business model based on the principles of sustainable development. We are glad that the conclusion of cooperation with Hevel company will become not only a significant event for Unilever, but also can be an example for other industries, comments the chief operating officer of Unilever to Nitin Paradzhpa
