2024: Continued development in Kazakhstan with US support

The main center of Jehovah's Witnesses (the organization is banned in Russia) in Kazakhstan is located in Alma-Ata, and meetings and congresses are held in Astana, Ekibastuz, Kyzylorda, Zhezkazgan, Satpayev, Kentau, Taraz, Aktobe, Aksu and Ust-Kamenogorsk.

On May 16, 2024, an article was published on the CABAR sub-platform - Belief.cabar.asia - with an attempt to debunk "negative stereotypes" about "witnesses." At this time, Kazakhstan was visited by Uzra Zeya, Deputy Secretary of State USA for Civil Security, Democracy and Human Rights.

2019

Open days in many cities of Kazakhstan

In 2019, Jehovah's Witnesses held open days in a number of cities at once: Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Kostanay, Semey, Shymkent, Taldy-Kurgan and Taraz, one of them was actively covered on the CABAR portal.

Membership in the sect, as a guarantee of support in "difficult situations"

Membership in the sect becomes a mandatory rule for many who have left Russia.

In September 2019, the Polish District Court refused to extradite Russia to the former vice-president of Probusinessbank Yaroslav Alekseev due to the fact that he turned out to be a member of the Jehovah's Witnesses sect.

The court ruled that the extradition of Alekseev to Russia is "legally unacceptable" under Polish and international law. According to human rights activists, in Russia, detainees are subjected to torture and humiliation. Alekseev is a member of the religious organization Jehovah's Witnesses, which is recognized as extremist in Russia.

Support in Belarus

In July 2019, the Belarusian authorities not only helped with the organization of the annual congress of Jehovah's Witnesses, allocating the Minsk Tractor stadium for this, but also highlighted the event as much as possible in the media.

In Russia, Jehovah's Witnesses are considered extremists, and their huge property has been confiscated.
