At the beginning of September, 2019 the University of applied sciences in Munich in cooperation with Institute of silicates of Fraunhofer provided "umny" a rug which learns to give first aid. Doctors and rescuers in work already began to use it.
Most of people are not trained to execute warm and pulmonary resuscitation, and even at the corresponding training confidence in the forces when they come up against emergency situation can not be enough for them. Therefore scientists developed the hi-tech device under the name Rescue Aid.
The idea consists that when training "the umny rug" is located over a dummy trunk, and the rescuer begins outside massage of heart. At the same time the dense network of flexible silicone sensors of deformation which supplies a rug will measure pressure value enclosed by the student. In an upper part of a rug the panel with a band of LEDs which light up at each compression is located: the green band speaks about sufficient pressure, red about excessive.
Besides, the higher pressure which is put by the rescuer the is more quantity of the lighting-up LEDs. Therefore the rescuer's purpose - to pick up such force of clicking which will allow to light up to the maximum number of green LEDs before transition to "a red zone". The panel also gives a sound signal at each compression and in fact serves as a metronome which helps the rescuer to support a rhythm.
The tests which are carried out on an educational dummy for resuscitation showed that the technology is effective and can be used for training of doctors and rescuers. Developers "umny" a rug already optimized the invention for use in actual practice at the different sizes of a body. Researchers remind that at the correct accomplishment outside massage of heart considerably increases chances of the victim of survival.[1]
