2019: SITA AirportConnect implementation
On September 11, 2019 Airport of Krabi announced that plans implementation of passenger technologies of a world class from global IT-provider in the field of air transport SITA.
As it was reported, it is one of points of the four-year strategic plan of Department of the airports of Thailand which purpose – to make the airport of Krabi the regional aviation center. A system includes the public SITA platform for processing of a passenger traffic of AirportConnect Open (CUPPS) and booths for independent registration both in internal, and in the international terminal.
The province of Krabi has geographical advantage as it is located between picturesque coasts of Andamansky and Siamese gulfs. Thanks to richness of natural resources and sights of Krabi becomes more and more popular destination. In 2018 Krabi was visited by more than four million people from the different countries, including China, Singapore, Malaysia, Great Britain, Russia and South Korea, and from the airport of Krabi more than 30,000 runs took off. Such investments into public infrastructure provide big freedom of action for the international airlines performing flights from the airport of Krabi. Plans for further development of the airport of Krabi include construction of the third Terminal and reconstruction of the first and second Terminals to increase capacity from 1500 passengers to 3000 passengers per hour. It is also going to construct and expand parking compartments which could contain at the same time 40 airplanes. Besides, passenger SITA technologies of a world class will be implemented in all three terminals. The airport of Krabi which expansion is going to be completed in 2022 has every chance to become the perfect regional aviation center connecting Thailand to the rest of the world.
The project according to the service contract CUPPS (the public SITA platforms for processing of a passenger traffic of AirportConnect Open) at the airport of Krabi is performed by Samart Comtech Co company. Ltd. together with global IT provider in the field of air SITA transport.
