2019: Start of an initiative

On September 11, 2019 "Yandex" announced investment of 5 billion rubles into educational projects. This project under the name "Educational Initiative" is expected 3 years and intended for expansion existing and creations of new projects in the field of school, higher and additional education, training of IT specialists and advanced training of teachers.

Will implement this initiative of "Yandex" together state bodies, comprehensive schools, universities and colleges.

"Yandex" invests 5 billion rubles in training of IT specialists

By 2022 "Yandex" is going to train about 100 thousand specialists for the Russian IT industry. The company is going to train 30 thousand school students in " Yandex.lyceum " and IT classes at the Moscow schools. Partner universities of "Yandex" will produce 20 thousand certified specialists. 50 thousand more adult Russians will undergo occupational retraining " Yandex.practical work ".

"Yandex" together with universities and institutes of advanced training is going to start the I Am a Teacher project. It is supposed that in three years about 500 thousand teachers and students of pedagogical universities will take part in it. Them will teach to use new technologies and software solutions which will help with educational process. Teachers will also be told about methods of collecting and data processing — with their help it is simpler to keep statistics of progress and to analyze errors of each of children.

Work on such direction as researches in the field of machine learning and artificial intelligence will be conducted Besides. About 600 experts in data slicing pane and machine learning are going to prepare schools of data analysis of "Yandex", to open new research laboratories in universities and to hold a series of scientific conferences with foreign institutes.
