2019: Start of the pilot smart city in Moscow area

On September 13, 2019 PJSC MTS announced start in Reutov of the Moscow region of a pilot project of the smart city. The project is implemented within the program of the governor of the Moscow region Andriy Vorobyov Safe area and three directions include: ecomonitoring, optimization of export of household waste and installation in a number of apartment houses interactive infopanely.

Sensors of ecomonitoring are designed to replace the website of Mosecomonitoring which is on reconstruction and to control the level of emissions from a polygon of Kuchino. Within a pilot project of MTS installed special sensors around Novokosino-2, near the railway station "Reutov" and the Novokosino subway. A system in real time traces the current ecological situation in the city: temperature and air humidity, emissions of a carbon dioxide gas and concentration of mercaptans and formaldehydes – toxic substances which not only are the reason of an unpleasant smell but also in high concentrations are unhealthy the person. In case of exceeding of values of threshold limit value of substances in air, a system will automatically inform city supervisory authorities. Monitoring allows to monitor an air status in the city, to fix the frequency and scale of emissions of harmful substances.

A system on optimization of export of waste is directed to increase in effective management of resources. The proposed solution allows to create flexible hours of export of waste depending on fullness of a tank. It will allow to reduce garbage removal cost on average by 15% due to economy of fuel and the number of tanks, provides full control in execution of works. In the long term the end-to-end system of garbage removal allows to predict and lower load of the waste-processing enterprises.

MTS set in containers a heat - and moisture-proof shock-resistant sensors which fix the level of its fullness and also monitor existence in air of certain gases that will allow to react quickly, for example, to ignition of garbage. Sensors are suitable for different types of containers: as for mixed, and separate collecting of garbage. Through NB-IoT network state-of-health data of a container go to online schedule system and control which predicts the speed of their filling. On the basis of the forecast a system calculates an optimal route of collecting and export of waste. Within a pilot project a system is implemented on a number of budgetary institutions: in a gymnasium on Nekrasov Street, 15, kindergartens No. 1, No. 5 and No. 8.

the Innovation services which we together with MTS started in Reutov, meet the most pressing needs of inhabitants. If the pilot project shows the efficiency, we are ready to expand cooperation and to try services which will increase quality of life in the city and will make Reutov the technology leader of the Moscow region. All measurements will come to our municipal command center region (CCR), and on the basis of documental data we will be able to make operational decisions and to provide complete and fair information to our inhabitants,

Emergence of test zones of the smart city in close proximity to MKAD – a big step to integration of similar solutions into everyday life of inhabitants of the capital region.
