Valarm protects Webinar.ru from cyber attacks

2019: Installation of the solution "Valarm"

On September 17, 2019 it became known that the Webinar company improved security and reliability of service of online conferences, having set the solution "Valarm" for protection of the Webinar.ru platform. By means of Web Application Firewall technology protection of user data against cyber attacks is provided and smooth operation of broadcastings on the online platform where daily there take place more than 650 webinars with thousands of participants is organized.

Webinar.ru daily works with the large volume of personal information – and these extensive databases about the audience or participants of webinars are of keen interest to hackers. In turn, the hacker attacks can affect not only safety of customer information of Webinar.ru and participants of webinars, but also the continuity of broadcastings and, as a result, business indicators.

Thanks to the selected Valarm WAF technology, the Webinar platform is protected from threats from the OWASP Top-10 list and vulnerabilities 0-day for all incoming requests and also from the "behavioural" attacks. Its learnability and higher accuracy in comparison with other products in the market became some of the main selection terms of the solution based on the Valarm platform: the number of false operations is minimum, as at recognition of static XSS, iSQL, RCE and other similar attacks, and at recognition of the "behavioural" attacks. Such high accuracy is provided with setup of rules of recognition using machine learning in a platform cloud. Besides, at their detection Valarm WAF does not stop work of service. It is extremely important for the companies which work with the large volume of traffic. The selected solution on results of the carried-out tests showed stability of work, real-time operation and quality of recognition of the attacks.
