2019: Start of sales

In the middle of September, 2019 the Medtronic company announced the system of continuous monitoring of glucose (CGM) Envision Pro with exact calibration. Sales in Europe and in the Middle East begin in the fall. The new technology will allow health workers and patients to monitor with diabetes level variations of glucose in blood eventually and to choose the most optimal plans of treatment.

Check of level of glucose and the level of glikirovanny hemoglobin only partly reflect fluctuations of sugar in capillary blood during the day, experts note. The glucose given on level collected by Envision generates up to five diagnostic reports for attending physicians. The basic report, Pattern Snapshot, uses advanced algorithms of image identification to help to improve communication between the doctor and the patient. It reveals daily patterns and interrelation of peak values of glucose with meals, drugs, physical exercises and a dream. Thanks to such report the doctor can easily correct therapy and provide recommendations about change of a way of life to the patients to minimize peaks of glucose and the related risk of complications. The Envision Pro CGM system provides exact data which are not visible to the patient that allows to gain an objective impression about a real situation.

The Envision Pro system was developed taking into account ease of use of the tool. For example, patients do not need to calibrate CGM any more. Besides, there is no need to return the tool to the attending physician as the recorder exchanges data on wireless communication with the smartphone of the patient and as required transfers them to the doctor thanks to what that can create far off reports without additional visits.[1]
