2019: Announcement
At the end of September, 2019 it became known of creation in National Research Nuclear University of MEPhI of a system under the name "On Hands" which blocks access to the smartphone if use it differently, than the owner.
According to developers, the technology differs from another similar in the fact that it does not cease to work after the malefactor entered the password or bypassed blocking. A system analyzes actions of the user (for example, interaction with the screen, provision of the device and even gait) and blocks access if they do not correspond to habits of the owner of the device.
Staff of department of cryptology and cyber security which created this solution call it very exact. All data collected by it are stored and processed on the device. It guarantees that information will not get into strange hands, transfers the Rusbase edition.
Creators "On hands" already submitted the project at tenders of IT startups Kaspersky Start, Skolkovo Start Up Tour and Secur’IT Cup, and in 2018 became winners of competition of "UMNIK-2018". By the end of September, 2019 work on a product proceed. In the next plans - obtaining the patent and sale of a system to the companies and private users.
Earlier the team of students of institute of the intelligent NIYaU MEPhI cybernetic systems offered technology of authentication which allows the smartphone to identify the owner on the movement of the hand bringing a tube to an ear. As envisioned by creators, the application will be used as parameters by initial provision of the device, motion speed of a hand and change of position in space which are defined by means of built in the smartphone of a gyroscope, the accelerometer and the light sensor. Developers wanted to release the program for Android devices.[1]
