2019: Start of the platform

At the end of October, 2019 HP Inc. announced start of the cloud platform allowing to create applications for the printing equipment. The new solution from the American IT vendor was received by the name Workpath.

It facilitates to resellers and developers creating applications for implementation of such business processes as sending expense reports or digital archiving of records. Using the platform will access to existing applications and their installation directly on the MFP are facilitated.

The example of use of Workpath together with service for calculation of corporate expenses of SAP Concur is given. Using the HP platform clients can scan receipts on payment and print cost statements, created in Concur. It saves time and increases comfort in work with software.

Other example: scanning of the paper document and preserving it directly in a shared folder Microsoft Teams or Google Docs through the application on the printer. Besides, HP Workpath provides safe authentication.

By the end of October, 2019 HP Workpath ecosystem (the producer quite so calls the product) includes more than 300 developers and about 50 applications, including the programs focused on certain industries like health care, education and public sector. By the beginning 2020 increase in number of the provided applications to 70 is planned.

HP she intends to open full access to Workpath to partners, developers and clients worldwide in the fourth quarter 2019.

Also the HP platform of Command Center which allows service providers to manage far off the MFP was updated and to implement the HP Workpath applications.

Commenting on an exit of new technologies, the head of printer business of HP Tuan Tran noted that the company allocates modern mobile phones of employees with "more intelligent and integrated tools which allow them to perform the work safely and more effectively where and when necessary".[1]
