2023: EMC sells stake in Senior Group

The European Medical Center (EMS) sold its stake in the Senior Group network of boarding houses from its founder. This became known in August 2023.

As clarifies Kommersant with reference to the data of the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRUL), the Cypriot SG-Hold Co by August 2023 left the founders of the Senior Group. This structure was 51% owned by a network of private clinics in EMS, the remaining shares in parity were owned by the founder of Senior Group Alexei Sidnev and his partner Alexei Bogdanov. Sidnev himself confirmed to the publication the fact of the conclusion of the deal.

I had a choice to stay in Russia and try to do something about my share in the Senior Group, but then I would have to be more careful in my statements, he said.

According to Sidnev, and "received nothing" of his share, and the new actual owner of the Senior Group calls the owner of the housing developer "RG Development" Sergei Shumey. RG Development declined to comment on the non-core business of its owner. It was not possible to contact Mr. Shumey.

Alexey Sidnev says that Sergey Shumey owns the Senior Group through proxies. Back in February 2023, Alexey Andreev received 95% each in Senior Group Malakhovka and Social Service, follows from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities. On the balance sheet of these legal entities are the main assets of the network - the geriatric center in the Moscow region and the patronage service. Since July, Mr. Andreev has been managing the Помогу.ру nursing service established in 2019 by Sergei Shumey, which is now part of the Senior Group.

By August 22, 2023, the Senior Group, as follows from its website, had one flagship boarding house in Malakhovka near Moscow, although at the beginning of 2022 there were three objects. In 2020-2021, the company signed a concession agreement with the Moscow mayor's office on the creation of two geriatric centers: they were supposed to be launched in 2022-2023, but have not yet been introduced, Kommersant notes[1]
