Rostelecom will provide objects of RTRS in North Ossetia with the Internet

2019: Start of works on providing objects of RTRS in North Ossetia the Internet

On November 14, 2019 Rostelecom South reported that it in North Ossetia began work on creation of IT infrastructure for objects of the Russian television and broadcasting network (RTRS). The staff of the company will bring communication fiber lines to 32 objects of RTRS. Until the end of 2019 operators are going to connect 14 objects for what will lay more than 65 km of optics. For content delivery the backbone network of Rostelecom which high capacity and reliability will allow to guarantee high-quality transfer of a TV and broadcasting signal will be used.

The implemented project means free digital television for residents of remote rural settlements in the hardly accessible mountain area. Thus for them opportunities, equal with city dwellers, will be provided. Even such remote settlements as the villages of Kusa and Kamunta in mountain Digoriya where there live 27 people, and the village Upper Tsey with 18 inhabitants will not stand aside, shared Robert Aguzarov, the director of the branch of RTRS "Radio Television Transmitting Center RSO-Alania"

For November, 2019 the staff of Rostelecom laid already nearly a half of the planned volume of optical lines, about 30 kilometers. Works are conducted including in difficult conditions of a mountainous terrain.
