At the end of November, 2019 Pentax provided the duodenoscope which construction whom allows to clean and disinfect it with bigger ease, than traditional devices. In assortment of the producer the model under the name Pentax Medical Video ED34-i10T2 appeared.

Duodenoscopes are a type of endoscopes which is used for assessment of the first part of a small intestine of the patient. Besides, via the tool allows to delete onkoobrazovaniye, papillomas, polyps, to coagulate bleedings and also to carry out through itself the thin transduodenal choledochoscope for different manipulations in bilious channels: installations of stents, removals of bilious concrements, installations of catheters for introduction of X-ray contrast substance before the ERHPG procedure, etc.

However it is known that it is very difficult to clean duodenoscopes completely after use because of narrow channels and tiny slots where the infection can remain. Thus, at reuse of the duodenoscope inevitably there is a risk of transfer of the infected materials from one patient to another.

Regulatory bodies tried to reduce risk and issued recommendations for producers of similar devices in 2018. According to these recommendations of Pentax provided the duodenoscope with disposable components of the disteel end - that part of the device which traditionally was difficult to be cleaned and disinfected, in this case is made replaceable.

Pentax not for the first time tries to improve ergonomics of the made devices. The set of the thought-over engineering solutions facilitate daily use of fibroduodenoskop. Examples of such small, but important improvements is not only the removable cap of the disteel end facilitating cleaning of the duodenoscope after holding a procedure, but also taken aside the instrumental channel, and the modified cannula elevator.^[1]
