2019: Opening
At the end of November, 2019 in the center of New York the Bandit coffee shop without cash desks opened. It is impossible to order something just from a rack in this coffee shop, the buyer needs to download mobile application and to make the order through it — everything is paid only through the application. Though at first such approach can cause misunderstanding, the friendly staff of Bandit coffee shop is always ready to help new buyers.
While Starbucks experimented with orders and payments from mobile devices, Bandit relied only on buyers with mobile devices as the cofounder and the CEO of coffee shop Max Crowley who held a post of the general manager of Uber for Business earlier specified. He is sure that such model of interaction provides "absolutely new client experience". Crowley assumed that eventually the Bandit coffee shop offers clients the most convenient method of the order. Now, wherever there was a buyer, it is rather simple to it to open the application and to order drink, and the application, in turn, will tell him when drink is ready and where it to take away.
So far the coffee shop has only one outlet in New York, but in the coming months the company is going to start five more points, and by the end of the first quarter 2020 is going to go out of New York.
We can open an institution in several hours, at the same time start of Bandit is 10 times cheaper, than at normal coffee shop — Crowley adds. |
Besides, having reduced costs, Bandit can make the coffee available at the price.
As noticed Crowley: I do not think that I should cost to latte with ice $6 or $7. Our purpose - to be cheaper, than Starbucks. |
The cafe also experiments with other pricing models — for example, offers a subscription in $20 which provides an unlimited number of drinks in a month.[1]
