2019: Printing of a fabric implant during transaction

On December 7, 2019 Zdrav.Expert became known that in Russia for the first time the fabric implant was printed during transaction.

Printing of a fabric implant during transaction

Operation was performed on rats and took place in MNIOI of P.A. Herzen (branch of federal state budgetary Institution'Radiology NMITs') Ministry of Health RUSSIAN FEDERATION together with the company 3D Bioprinting Solutions. Printing was carried out by in situ – i.e. on site, during transaction, and directly to a wound with the help robot- the manipulator of the company KUKA. In qualities of bioink specially developed collagenic material and own cells of skin of experimental rodents was used. Especially for an experiment the original manufacturing techniques from blood of a lysate of platelets and the gel on its basis enriched growing to factors and hormones for 2D - and 3D - cultivation of cages in neksenogenny conditions were developed.

It is an alternative to embryonic veal serum – to a ksenogenny product which can cause allergic reactions. The lysate of platelets is used as a component of the printed construction for regeneration stimulation. It can be prepared as a personal product from blood of each patient,
emphasized the project manager professor N.S. Sergeyeva

Bioprinting of in situ minimizes risks of development of complications after transplantation. This method is represented perspective as can solve problems of blood supply of an implant. In the printed tkaneinzhenerny construction native endotelialny progenitorny cells of the recipient — those which participate in formation of vessels migrate. Also in construction sprout capillaries from the fabric surrounding defect.

Certainly, the oncology will be one of the first fields of medicine where this technology will be demanded. The quality of life after aggressive treatment is unsatisfactory owing to loss or malfunction of bodies. In this aspect we lay great hopes on 3D - bioprinting as on technology of creation of constructs of bodies from live elements,
noted the academician of RAS, the CEO of Federal State Budgetary Institution NMITs radiologii of the Russian Ministry of Health A.D. Kaprin.[1]
