2019: 14 years of prison for attempt to select the domain under a gun barrel

On December 10, 2019 Rossi Loratsio Adams (Rossi Lorathio Adams) was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment for attempt to select the domain under the threat of physical violence.

Rossi Loratsio Adams was a blogger who had more than one million subscribers on different social networks. He published photos and videos of indecent character with participation of youth. At first he created own content, and then began to release that it was sent by other users.

At some point he decided to register the domain which repeats the slogan used by visitors of its accounts: Do it for state. However the website doitforstate.com was registered by other person — the resident Sedar Repids Ethan Deyo.

For two years Adams made attempts to convince Deyo to sell the domain. That long refused, but eventually agreed to concede the rights to management of domain name for $20 thousand. However already Adams refused the transaction, having considered the price too high. At first he tried to intimidate Deyo, and then passed from words to case.

Adams employed the cousin, previously convicted Sherman Hopkins Jr. That went to the specified address where handed to the owner of the website the requirement with instructions for assignment of rights of the domain. To add weight to the words, Adams's relative used a gun. Having put it to the head of the victim, he monitored how that follows instructions.

However Ethan Deyo, having applied self-defense measures, snatched out a gun at Hopkins and several times shot to it at a breast. The criminal survived, and in 2018 the court appointed to it 20 years of imprisonment.

Rossi to Loratsio Adams of villages for 14 years. Also he will have to pay to the victim compensation in the amount of $9 thousand. He should pay even more than $25 thousand to compensate legal costs and expenses on lawyers.^[1]
