2019: Creation of the virtual plant
The VR Professionals company, the resident Klastera of information technologies of Skolkovo Foundation, created the virtual "Sulfuric project" which Norilsk Nickel implements at the Copper plant. On December 18, 2019 reported about it in Skolkovo Foundation. It is supposed that it not only will help to glance in the future, but also personnel training will increase speed.
During the project the VR Professionals command recreated a production line of "The sulfuric project" of the Copper plant in virtual reality. It is the ecological initiative of corporation directed to improvement of the environment in the Norilsk industrial region. It is supposed that with its help Norilsk Nickel by 2023 will be able to catch 1.5-1.7 million tons of dioxide of sulfur a year.
In general the rbot over the project allowed VR Professionals to glance in the future: on implementation of "The sulfuric project" of the Copper plant Norilsk Nickel will need about five years. And at the VR plant it is realistic the corresponding technology processes are visualized.
The model of a production line is created on the basis of Unreal Engine 4 and the universal platform on the organization and management of training in virtual reality of VR Professionals. The solution will allow employees to get acquainted with the equipment located at the real plant. In the long term, thanks to VR technologies the Norilsk Nickel company will have an opportunity to much lower time of an exit of the employee of the Copper plant for the line.
The VR Professionals project for Norilsk Nickel represents interesting symbiosis of the domestic educational VR platform and the "game" engine from the international vendor of Epic Games. It, on the one hand, confirms cost efficiency of prototyping and creation of educational scenarios in VR, and with another – is a striking example of a transfer of technologies from game development in business applications, – Alexey Kalenchuk, the head "Virtual and Augmented Reality, Technologies of Gamification" of the Cluster of information technologies of Skolkovo Foundation noted. |
