2020: Development of the module Liveness Detection

On November 25, 2020 the center of cognitive technologies of AiTeco announced development of the module Liveness Detection for protection against cracking of the systems of biometric identification according to the image of the person. Algorithms detect attempts of presentation of the photo, 2D - masks or images on the gadget screen instead of a human face.

The solution for protection against the similar attacks, so-called spoofing, is intended for different areas where scenarios of remote biometric identification and authorization of users according to the image of the person are used. First of all, it is banks, insurance companies and other representatives of the financial sector. Also Liveness Detection technologies will find application in systems of accounting of working time using the user devices, the self-service terminals, digital services and mobile applications offering remote access to services.

In these scenarios the reliable tool which is not causing additional inconveniences to the user is necessary for protection. The module Liveness Detection does not demand from the user of confirmatory actions, for example blinking or turn of the head. For reliable operation of the module one picture taken by the user suffices.

Remote access to different types of services using biometric identification in the image of the person is most often provided using mobile devices. Advantage of the module Liveness Detection is its optimization for high performance on CPU-and ARM processors. It allows to use in most cases algorithms at already available computing powers and mobile devices. Speed of work is 10 checks per second on one core of the processor.

Remote biometric identification according to the image of the person becomes more and more widespread rule. Today key customers of similar solutions – banks and insurance companies, and in this sphere the probability of attempts of cracking and deception of the systems of authorization is high — Ivan Tikhonov, the head of biometrics of the Center of cognitive technologies of AiTeco tells. – But with requirements to security also possibilities of technologies grow. The module of noncooperative anti-spoofing can become the instrument of improvement and gain of security of the systems of face recognition which are already installed at the customer due to use of the last achievements in Liveness technologies.

2019: ITeco SmartBM presentation

On December 18, 2019 the I-Teco company announced that the Center of cognitive technologies of AiTeco developed SmartBM, a biometric control system and access (ACS) for the last generation according to the image of the person. The solution is designed to increase system effectiveness of security in the companies, to facilitate the organization of access to premises.

At the heart of SmartBM – modern, exact and fast algorithms of recognition of the person. In a system the Liveness technology is applied to confirmation that identification is carried out according to the image of the living person, but not according to his photo or video on the smartphone. It will allow to refuse additional access control from security service specialists and to implement comfortable and fast pass of employees to a workplace at the enterprises.

Biometrics

Among distinctive advantages of a system there are a universality, simplicity and speed of implementation. SmartBM has a possibility of seamless integration with popular ACS and does not require their replacement. The solution is compatible to a broad spectrum of the equipment for video surveillance of leading manufacturers. Thanks to SmartBM the existing ACS defines and uses the mounted cameras as own readers.

The solution was created taking into account features and problems of use of the systems of recognition of the person for control and access control. In particular, developers implement stable work of a software package in the mode of "an open door". For spaces like "open space" with a free admission the special algorithm of post-event handling allowing to detect the strangers entering the premises is provided.

As a result of SmartBM — this flexible scalable solution with the high level of reliability which is provided using failsafe cluster technologies under management OS Windows and Linux. It does implementation biometric identification economically reasonable as on small objects (1 - 4 cameras), and on large enterprises (hundreds of cameras).

Use of biometric identification becomes the standard in the field of control and access control. Therefore we were focused on offering customers a system for which implementation serious changes in organizational processes and infrastructure are not necessary. SmartBM will allow the companies to build in front biometrics different scenarios quickly: from classical access control in the mode of black, white and alternative lists to the organization of a special meeting of key partners and clients.
