2020: Use of digital doubles
In the middle of August, 2020 Honeywell International announced cooperation increase with iTRACE Technologies within a blockchain project. Now the American producer of electronic management systems and automation begins to use technology of the partner for control of all supply chain, for identification and check of products and also for inventory management.
The main objective of partnership with iTRACE — fight from the counterfeit products made by Honeywell. The company uses a blockchain for deliveries of original spare parts for airplanes and other products. The technology of verification under the name iTRACE 2DMI is implemented in industrial printers of Honeywell.
iTRACE 2DMI represents the label which it is possible directly on the Honeywell PX940v printer. The solution allows to perform safe authentication of a product and to trace it directly in a warehouse or production.
Within the implemented integration the object printed on the printer can be connected to a blockchain, creating thereby the digital double of a system of online authentication. In turn, it provides the additional security level for the industries which need the increased protection of physical entities (aircraft, transport, logistics, navigation, pharmaceutics, automotive industry, aircraft, etc.).
Both Honeywell, and clients can print protective marking labels for the products, and then monitor their deliveries in the channel, guaranteeing to buyers receiving an authentic product, but not counterfeit.
Use of a blockchain offers the enterprises a set of opportunities which minimize fraud in supply channels of any complexity and increase trust from consumers and suppliers — the president of division of Honeywell Productivity Products Kevin Dekhoff said.[1] |
2019: The beginning of cooperation of Honeywell and iTRACE in a blockchain project
In the middle of December, 2019 Honeywell announced start a solution blockchain for fight against counterfeit space parts, created in partnership with iTRACE and SecureMarking.
Spare parts are very expensive to airplanes and are often resold that extremely complicates check of origin of parts. Thanking a blockchain system the repair crew will be able not only to estimate authenticity of parts, but also to check the previous maintenance. A new system uses two-factor check of origin of parts of Honeywell Aerospace. It will also be applied in online store of spare parts to the GoDirect Trade airplanes which was started Honeywell companies in 2018. The blockchain will help to provide authenticity sold on the special portal.
On the assembly line of Honeywell the iTRACE 2DMI tool puts with the laser the parts given on the identification plate. Then the special nanoink developed by Honeywell Performance Materials and Technologies (PMT) and the third-party company on SecureMarking authentication is applied on it. They provide a nekloniruyemost of this code. When the ready part goes for the market, the two-dimensional matrix from the plate is scanned using mobile application of iTRACE. These identification data together with other information, such as date of production, come to a blockchain system of Honeywell. Now any part can be checked for authenticity, having scanned an identification matrix.
Our task — to create the first space market where clients will be able to buy qualitative parts without doubts. Cooperation of Honeywell of PMT, SecureMarking and iTRACE provides the new security level in the aviation industry — the general manager of a marketplace of Honeywell GoDirect Trade Lisa Butters noted.[2] |
