2020: Announcement
At the beginning of January, 2020 the American producer of goods of personal hygiene Charmin belonging to the international giant Procter&Gamble provided the robot for delivery of toilet paper of the house and at offices.
The two-wheeled Rollbot robot is activated via the smartphone and delivers a fresh toilet roll directly to the bathroom. The technology is designed to save people from awkward situations — Rollbot is equipped with infrared sensors which allow it to be guided in the toilet room with the person who was left without paper. Unfortunately, Rollbot is not completely independent robot and is not capable to install toilet paper in the device independently therefore it can only bring it to the right place and in due time.
Rollbot was provided together with SmellSense — the electronic sensor of smells which estimates risk of "the gas attack" before visit of the bathroom. He tells the user whether the previous visitor left the unpleasant atmosphere in the bathroom. SmellSense defines the maintenance of a carbon dioxide gas and hydrogen sulfide in air and on the basis of it tells the user, the bathroom concerning unpleasant smells is how safe.
Besides, the company provided the compact dry closet of V.I.Pee including the built-in stereosystem with volume sounding and glasses of virtual reality Oculus Rift S VR — they will allow to pass away time in the bathroom. All these devices were provided at the same time to show to potential clients as the toilet room of the future can look. The GoLab system integrating in itself these gadgets is not held for sale, at least during 2020.
At the time of the announcement it was not reported when Rollbot goes on sale and how many will cost.[1]
