2020: Announcement

In the middle of January, 2020 the Pentax Medical company provided a system for endoscopy of Imagina and announced the beginning of sales of the new device in the USA.

The Imagina system is intended for accomplishment of a number of procedures on digestive tract in the centers of out-patient surgery. The new processor in combination with a set of endoscopes provides a number of means for carrying out a colonoscopy and inspection of a gullet and a stomach. Imagina is equipped with the touch interface and includes Pentax i-Scan, the digital system of image enhancement in real time which should help doctors to estimate texture of a surface of a mucous membrane and blood vessels with a bigger accuracy. Pentax provided the Imagina i10c series as the first-ever platform for endoscopy with the built-in LED indicators, the sensor of the image of HD + CMOS and the Pentax i-Scan function.

We consider that today's market of out-patient surgery is insufficiently developed, - the president and the executive director of Pentax Medical David Woods said in the press release. - Entry into the market of the endoscopic Imagina system will allow us to satisfy requirements of the main market of researches GITs with minimizing costs without decline in quality. Imagina does not include the most expensive components of the endoscopic systems of a premium class, but still conforms the highest to standards in the field of visualization.

Doctor Stepan Suchanek from the Prague center of gastrointestinal endoscopy noted that the Imagina system submits the new concept of endoscopy and provides high-quality visualization at low costs. He hopes that Imagina will become one of elements of an effective system of inspection and treatment of patients, at the same time reducing financial load of a health care system.[1]
