The Astra Linux reported that will provide distance learning on support of the operating system for system administrators of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In the first flow already trained 135 employees, it is planned three more. The cost of technical support and updating of OS, as a rule, is 35–50% of the cost of the license a year, these services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will be rendered by AT Consulting, added to the companies.

The founder of AT Consulting Sergey Shilov was connected to criminal case about corruption during creation of an intelligent system of ensuring activity of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, writes the edition. In the spring of 2019 case was closed.

As the president of ANO Umnye goroda Artem Yermolaev noted, the actual cost of an investment should be considered taking into account the price of further service. Considering that at Microsoft  the annual technical support is included in OS price usually at once, it is possible to call purchase of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Astra Linux inexpensive,  but a difference in cost with Windows not such big as it could be expected, he considers. According to Yermolaev, state structures expect bigger security for smaller cost from domestic OS, at this Ministry of Internal Affairs the computer is hardly necessary for the solution of technically difficult tasks so in this case transition to Astra Linux – the good solution.

There are no completely domestic universal OS in Russia by January, 2020, there are only assemblies based on Linux, the director of Association of the enterprises of computer and information technologies Nikolay Komlev notes.[1]
