Synthesis Diclofenac

2019: Annual sales volume reached 1 billion rubles

On January 28, 2020 the Sintez company reported that based on 2019 sales of the anti-inflammatory medicine "Diclofenac" increased twice and reached 1 billion rubles. At the same time the medicine market share in the category in kind exceeded 43% (these "AlphaRM"). Thus, Diclofenac gel became the first best-seller in a portfolio of medicines of JSC Sintez.

At the end of 2018 we began strategy implementation of development of sales in retail market. From more than 300 product names of Synthesis selected medicines which could become competitive in a pharmaceutical segment, Diclofenac gel was one of them. From scratch created sales department, changed marketing strategy and began to offer the consumer the Russian generics at the affordable price. Diclofenac gel uses polarity as at bigger concentration of active ingredient costs 2.5 times cheaper than import analogs. Sergey Klykov, the CEO of JSC Sintez told

According to the company, in parallel in 2019 JSC Sintez developed and registered own substance "Sodium Diclofenac" which is used for production of Diclofenac gel. Developments began within strategy implementation of the company on import substitution and ensuring independence of production of foreign suppliers, in particular, after interruptions of deliveries from China (the situation resulted in deficit on raw materials and to sharp price increase in 2019). For January, 2020 JSC Sintez produces more than 800 kg of substance a month (about 9 tons per year), after expansion of capacities will be able to increase release to 30,000 kg a year.

In 2020 about 30% of medicines of Diclofenac (gels, tablets, ointments, drops and solutions) will be produced from own substance. Completely it is going to switch to the raw materials within two years. Solution for intramuscular introduction AKOS Diclofenac and drops Diclofenac are included into the VED list.

Production capacities of JSC Sintez can provide with Sodium Diclofenac substance and other domestic pharmaceutical enterprises. For January, 2020 medicines of Diclofenac manufacture more than fifty companies in Russia.
