2020: Announcement
In January, 2020 the company Canonical known on release Linux- distribution kits Ubuntu, started Anbox Cloud service which allows to place Android-applications in a cloud. Programs are started on external servers using an open environment of Anbox, with stream broadcast of an output to the system of the client and transfer of events from input devices with the minimum delays.
Within this platform several Canonical technologies are included in a uniform program stack. Among them — a core of Ubuntu 18.04 LTS, the containers LXD, the tool for deployment of high-scalable environments of MAAS and the tool of the orchestration Juju.
According to developers, this technology will find application in such areas as cloud games, corporate solutions for working tasks, testing of software and virtualization of mobile devices.
For start of service on local computers and peripheral equipment of Canonical began cooperation with the large supplier of infrastructure for cloud computing of Packet.
Besides, agreements with semiconductor producers Ampere and Intel were signed to provide optimization of ARM- and x86 processors respectively for the clients wishing to start services on Anbox Cloud.
Thanks to the developing to a 5G networks and peripheral calculations millions of users will get access to huge richness of the Android-applications on demand, using the platform at will. The companies will get access to high-performance computing by high density for remote access to any device, with the lowered energy consumption and in economic option now — the director of the products Canonical Stephan Fabel said. |
For cloud providers Anbox Cloud will become the delivery system of mobile applications and services on the basis of models SaaS and PaaS.[1]
