2019: Availability to 3.5 million clients of SK "Sberbank Life Insurance"

By the end of 2019 service of the second medical opinion (second medical opinion, SMO) became available already 3.5 million clients of SK "Sberbank Life Insurance". In 85% of customer appeals for SMO originally made diagnosis was confirmed, in 15% recommended to clients additional inspections or other schemes of treatment. The insurance company reported about it on February 3, 2020.

"The second medical opinion" is included in insurance products of Sberbank Life Insurance company as additional service. For the client this service does not influence the cost of products, and can use it an unlimited number of times during all duration of the agreement of insurance. SMO allows to receive the alternative decision according to primary diagnosis from the leading medical specialists of the Russian and foreign clinics. Service is included in programs of voluntary insurance of life of borrowers of consumer loans, "The health horizon", Fund of health, "A family asset" and also at the discretion of the employer in agreements of collective insurance from accidents and diseases.

The greatest number of requests for "the second medical opinion" in 2019 arrived according to diagnoses "neurology" (30%), "oncology" (18%) and "orthopedics" (16%). Also consultations of cardiologists and endocrinologists were demanded (on 9%). Doctors from the USA, Germany and Israel were for clients "Sberbank life insurance" in the greatest demand.

The majority of requests for alternative opinion of the doctor arrived from clients from Moscow and the Moscow region (30%), St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region (8%) and the Samara region (4%). On 3% of addresses arrived from clients from |the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Tatarstan, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Krasnodar Krai.

The independent medical certificate and recommendations according to the plan of treatment are available on 10 fields of medicine, and further we are going to expand them to 16.
