Sheremetyevo implements 10 years SAP

The Sheremetyevo Airport (MASh) in cooperation with T-Systems CIS company successfully carried out implementation of the module SAP SD "Billing" on the SAP platform within the program of development the ERP system. Implementation of the project took several months – from October of the last year to January current.

The history of SAP implementation of ERP (before SAP R/3) in Sheremetyevo is quite thorny. The project renewed several times. It started, according to different data, in 1999 or in 2001. So, in 2004 the former chief financial officer "The international airport Sheremetyevo" Luchakovsky Alexander said in an interview that the enterprise considered the possibility of implementation of R/3 since 1997. It is really productive to implement a system in Sheremetyevo began with the middle of 2003, he said. From his words, during this time on the project not one integrator was replaced, Luchakovsky did not tell the names.

Change of approach to cast helped to put the project in motion. Initially the command of the airport tried to carry out global work by own efforts, involving consultants only in assistants. Further, having realized inefficiency of such approach, SAP implementation in Sheremetyevo was completely entrusted specialists. The Port Telecom company, MTU-Intel subsidiary company became the general contractor of the project (now – Comstar-Direkt, is included into AFK "Sistema" holding). T-Systems CIS acted as subcontractor.

Meanwhile, in an interview of 2008 the director of information technology of International Airport Sheremetyevo company Khokhlov Igor told that for financial management of the airport implementing solution SAP R/3 began in 2001, "but because of administrative problems went with different degree of success". According to its version, since 2006. implementation continued.

Neither in the press service of SAP, nor in the press service "International airport Sheremetyevo" did not answer questions of TAdviser (since what year the project who was integrator to T-Systems CIS and what project investment cost for the last years is implemented).

It is known that the functional units of SAP ERP which are responsible for financial and tax accounting, accounting of direct and indirect costs, fixed asset accounting, the salary, purchases and storage and also the PBU block which is the accounting module adapted to the Russian regulations are at the moment already implemented.

The press service of Sheremetyevo told that implementations of a billing system, automation of formation of financial settlement documents became a task of the last project (acts of the performed works, accounts, invoices).

At a stage of the choice of the contractor several candidates who provided offers on implementation of a billing system were considered. Three offers on system implementation based on the module SD SAP and also one offer from the company which developed own system on the basis of a DB of Oracle were provided. One, but not the only thing, advantage T-Sistems, experience of implementation of a billing system at the airports as abroad, and in Russia (Vnukovo) was. In addition to experience, the T-Sistems company provided the most optimal offer according to the results of the complex analysis of the received offers, told in Sheremetyevo.

As the representative of integrator Makovskaya Stanislava explained, T-Sistems already acted as integrator in SAP ERP implementation project at Vnukovo Airport where in addition to several financial blocks also the billing system module was also set. It should be noted that SAP solutions are quite popular for automation of work of the airports around the world: here it is possible to mention the airports of Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Almaty.

During the project all services rendered by the airport were conditionally separated into two groups: services in aviation activity and services in not aviation activity. The first group included the services which are directly connected with service of the arriving and decreasing aircrafts and passengers on the platform of the airport and in its terminals. In the second group all other services – lease of buildings and premises, utility and information services, security and others were referred.

Billing implementation which cost Sheremetyevo 36 million rubles allowed to connect together processes of rendering and accounting of services and to control behind them in the round-the-clock mode. The unified electronic reference books of data were developed for all key divisions of the airport, the opportunity of operational preparation of packets of financial settlement documents and formation of analytical data on results of productive activity is given. Interaction with the airport Synchrony database is also organized.

In ASUP SAP Sheremetyevo more than 300 users who are representatives of all divisions of the airport work now, from them more than 100 are involved in work with the module SD. The universal billing solution can be in the long term widespread in other airports in which activity accepts or Sheremetyevo is going to take part. Whether implementation others of the functional modules SAP ERP is planned further, the company does not report.
