On February 11, 2020 Gazprom Neft announced implementation of the so-called "smart lake of data" and stated that it made it the first in Russia. It is about the complex analytical platform of management of data which includes Data Lake, the data warehouse and laboratory of advanced analytics Data Science working in close integration with the Data Governance components.
The Data Governance components, key for "the smart lake of data ", are implemented on the Informatica platform. The DIS Group company acted as the partner in delivery and support of product introduction of Informatica.
The first problems of "the smart lake" included transaction processing of Gazprom Neft gas Station network, calculation of segments for client analytics, the analysis of a feedback from clients. Besides, data of considerable number of external sources, in particular, of the St. Petersburg commodity and raw exchange, the websites of the Central Banks of Russia and the CIS, geographical and meteorological resources, metrics and withdrawals of Google, App Store, "Yandex", open data of social networks, different data of partners and the information about competitors, data of mobile applications were integrated into the platform.
As reported in Gazprom Neft, the new solution provided flexible infrastructure for any tasks of the analysis and system improvement of quality of data that allows to develop and implement quickly client solutions and to increase operational efficiency of sales business.
Due to centralization of processing and data storage costs for infrastructure and data preparation for projects of the company decrease. Employees get access through the uniform user portal to descriptions of objects and data sets. Also the company at the expense of "the smart lake of data" can foresee preferences of clients and personalize offers.[1]
