Umbrella Linux is the platform for cooperation of system administrators in development of difficult and multifunction IT infrastructure for the big and small organizations. The main developer of a product is the Donetsk physicist Konstantin Metlov. The staff of the Donetsk physics and technology institute of A.A. Galkin took part in development.
For February, 2020 Umbrella Linux represents:
- the parametrized cluster of Unix of systems (including servers and workstations):
- with the centralized registration of users and computers means of LDAP;
- with support of technology of a uniform input based on Kerberos;
- with single NFSv4 file system;
- with management of a DNS zone, own WWW server of the organization;
- with services of external and internal e-mail (with a possibility of inclusion of the Web Mail interface);
- with internal service of conferences based on Jabber (with a possibility of the transparent encoded communication with other trusted systems);
- deleted (but completely controlled and configured) the workstations getting access to a system by means of VPN;
- service of terminals on the basis of X2Go for inclusion in a full-fledged work of old low-power computers and for remote graphic access to a system;
- service of no-touch deployment of the user workstations by means of their loading on a local network and remote workstations by means of the individual automatically generated installation program[1].
