According to analysts of IDC, it is wrong to claim that the era of SOA ended. On the contrary, SOA can form a basis for "cloud computing".

According to experts of IDC, by 2013 world expenses on the service-oriented architecture (SOA) will grow by 25%.

According to Rediger Spays (Ruediger Spies), the vice president for corporate applications of the Central European division of IDC, growth of expenses on SOA in Northern and Southern America will be the most essential, EMEA region (the country of Europe, the Middle East, Africa) will follow further.

By 2013 expenses on SOA in America will increase by 24.7%, in EMEA region – for 24%, in the Pacific Rim – for 23.2%. According to Mr. Spays, it is connected with the fact that the European companies already have more perfect IT architecture, than in American and therefore in Europe expenses on SOA should not be same high as in America.

According to Mr. Spays, SOA can increase coordination of IT and business. However for successful use of SOA, the companies need long-term planning. Usually the term of life of SOA systems exceeds the term of life of ERP systems which on average work for 12-13 years.

According to Mr. Spays, it is wrong to claim that the era of SOA ended. On the contrary, SOA can form a basis for "cloud computing".

Besides, according to Mr. Spays, SOA can become a basis for BPM strategy from which "one small step" before "cloud computing". In further SOA will be a basis of strategy for business process management within "cloud" infrastructure which promotes cost reduction and increase in flexibility.

Though integration is one of key problems in the field of "cloud computing", however, correctly constructed SOA system will allow to receive the plan for creation of uniform IT architecture.
