In the middle of February, 2020 the Mozilla company known on creation of the Firefox browsers started own VPN service for Android and Windows 10. The new product received the name Firefox Private Network VPN.
By February 20, 2020 the Firefox Private Network VPN application is at a stage beta testing, but it is available to downloading to everyone (only for Android). But even with the invitation the user needs to pay $4.99 a month. But Mozilla in turn promises not to register its traffic - developers claim that unlike free analogs, the VPN service created by them does not fix network traffic of users and does not remember history of the visited web resources.
The brief summary of the new product Mozilla is provided in the description of the application in shop of digital content Play Store. Firefox Private Network VPN uses the new Wireguard protocol which should provide faster and safe connection, than other traditional protocols, such as OpenVPN or IPsec. According to Mozilla, using the application the user will be able to connect at the same time five devices and to use the servers located more than in 30 countries.
On the official site of Firefox Private Network VPN it is told that service was created together with developers of a virtual private network open source of Mulvad VPN. It is possible to use VPN service using the application for the Android platform and also the desktop version of the client for Windows 10. Besides, Mozilla released special expansion for the observer of Firefox. Mozilla stated that it works on audience accumulation and probably further service will become available on bigger quantity of software platforms.[1]
