Rosreestr created digital maps of the whole of Russia on a scale of 1: 100,000

In February 2020, Rosreestr announced the creation of digital entire territory of Russia (17,125,2 thousand square kilometers, including the islands of the Arctic Ocean) on a scale of 1: 100,000. This project was implemented within the framework of the Unified Electronic Cartographic Framework (EECO).

In addition, according to the results of 2019 on a scale of 1: 50,000, about 99% (16,954,0 thousand square km) of the country is covered with similar maps, it was reported. 33% of the territory of Russia (5637.1 thousand square km) is provided by digital topographic maps on a scale of 1: 25,000 (including 7,418 updated nomenclature sheets).

In 2019, work was completed on the creation of a general geographic map of the Russian Federation on a scale of 1:2 500 000 and digital topographic maps on a scale of 1:1 000 000.

In 2019, Rosreestr began work on the creation of EECO in the form of digital orthophofuels of scale 1: 2,000 and 1: 10,000 , including on the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District.

The maps created by the department are stored in the Federal Spatial Data Fund (FFPD). Anyone can request cards from the fund. To obtain cartographic materials, you must contact the FSBI "Center for Geodesy, Cartography and IPD," which is the holder of the fund.

The rules for the provision of spatial data and materials, including the form of application and the composition of the documents attached to it, were approved by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation of 04.03.2017 No. 262.

Recall that the federal law of December 30, 2015 No. 431-FZ "On Geodesy, Cartography and Spatial Data" provides for the creation of a federal spatial data fund in Russia.

The law establishes that in order to provide spatial data, a regularly updated unified electronic cartographic framework and a corresponding state information system for maintaining a unified electronic cartographic framework must be created.[1]
