ActiveCloud helped OMD OM Group to transfer the business and critical systems to a cloud

2020: Migration in ActiveCloud cloud

Service provider ActiveCloud completed the project on migration of systems 1C for group of the specialized media agencies OMD OM Group from the European clouds in the cloud. It became known on February 25, 2020. During the project a team of the customer and engineers of provider carried out consolidation data and seamless transfer of systems: migration did not affect end users and helped to increase fault tolerance and security IT infrastructures.

Before moving to ActiveCloud cloud infrastructure of OMD OM Group was placed in a cloud of Microsoft (1C bases were placed in the same place) and on own servers at office. Business criticality of bases 1C pushed to the decision on transfer them in a cloud in the territory of Russia. Two ways of implementation were considered: transfer on own servers in office or placement at the Russian provider. The second option excluded capital costs and time losses of the independent organization of transfer therefore was more preferable to the choice.

Together with ActiveCloud the plan of consolidation of bases with the data which are already placed to the Russian Federation, and the plan of the relocation of 1C (IFRS and ZUP) on the VMware Vcloud platform was developed. For the continuity of work the backup system based on Veeam Backup & Replication was customized.

For such large company as OMD OM Group vitally and continuous and effective work of internal and external systems is reputation necessary. One of the most frequent scenarios of transition to a cloud – carrying out of the accounting and accounting systems which are the most crucial for business work. And in the light of 152 Federal Laws and existence in these personal data systems of users – it should be a cloud of the Russian service provider,

After transfer of 1C systems the test period was provided for reliability assessment and the speed of services. Also it was tested reservation of virtual machines from own local OMD OM Group servers in ActiveCloud cloud. In further development of the project it will allow to increase fault tolerance even more.
