2020: Start of cash desks of self-service in two shops of Novosibirsk

The retailer "Bystronom" started the system of self-service in 2 shops in Novosibirsk. The solution helped to increase capacity, to reduce queues and to remove excess loading from personnel. For February, 2020 such format of payment of purchases selects 15% of clients of retail chain stores. On February 27, 2020 the CSI company reported about it.

The system of self-service in Bystronom shops is provided by islands from 4 cash desks of self-service of Diebold Nixdorf. They accept only cashless payment: about 70% of buyers of network are calculated cards.

Cash desks of self-service replaced express cash desks: their retailer opened only in peak hours for calculation of buyers with baskets up to 5 goods. Cash desks of self-service are also focused on clients with a small amount of purchases, but they work constantly and at the island enough one consultant. Express cash desks require certain cashiers. Thanks to it the system of self-service allowed to unload personnel, to reduce queues and to increase passability of shops. It is used by 15% of buyers of Bystronom shops.

The concept of self-service was developed and started by CSI company. For this purpose specialists studied formats, consumer activity and business objectives of both shops and, being based on these data, designed islands of self-service and installed the equipment. The next stage — self-service system implementation in operating activities of shop, installation of target performance indicators and their achievement after start. In Bystronom shops the target indicator managed to be exceeded for 5%.

The solution Set Retail SCO of CSI company manages all cash desks of self-service. It controls relevance of the prices and helps the buyer on each step.
