"System-112" in the Republic of Crimea is transferred to Astra Linux

2020: Transition to Astra Linux Special Edition

On March 5, 2020 the Astra Linux group announced transfer of all uniform service "Sistemy-112" on duty and dispatching in the Republic of Crimea on the special purpose operating system Astra Linux Special Edition release Smolensk. Purchase of licenses was made based on the tender, carried out by state governmental agency of the Republic of Crimea "Safe region", the subordinated organization of the Ministry of emergencies of the Republic of Crimea, on the Internet portal "The Unified Information System in the field of Purchases".

As the contractor of the project telecommunication the company "Miranda media", the supplier license domestic software in the region and the partner of Astra Linux Group acted. For March, 2020 more than one hundred jobs of employees of "System-112" successfully function on all peninsula running the domestic software of Astra Linux Special Edition.

The field of activity of an emergency service defines requirements imposed to the hardware-software solutions providing its working capacity. Such IT infrastructures should have the high level of fault tolerance, functionality and security as much as possible to prevent a possibility of information leak and failure of a system in critical situations. The Crimean experience confirmed that the Astra Linux operating system answers these requests. The republican project became one of the first implemented transitions on domestic to software among the Russian emergency services. It is already the second successful transition of the organizations of the Crimea to software of Astra Linux within the national import substitution program in the field of IT.
