At the beginning of March, 2020 the Tax administration of Beijing officially announced a blockchain system of drawing of accounts to taxpayers start.
The tax administration considers that such advantages of blockchain technologies as transparency, traceability and impossibility of change of the entered information, will allow to improve service quality, provided to residents. At the same time the authenticity of tax notifications can be verified on the official site of tax administration.
A system will allow to reduce costs of taxpayers, to save public resources and to increase service quality. We create a healthy and fair tax environment, – it is said in the official statement of department. |
The bureau urged consumers to verify authenticity of accounts, verifying information with data on the website of tax bureau of Beijing. Those who will detect discrepancies in the account can reject them: consumers have the right to reject electronic accounts with data which do not match information on the official site and can call on a hot line of tax administration of the Beijing tax bureau to report about it.
Electronic accounts on a blockchain will be gradually applied also in other spheres of life of Beijing, for example, to payment of the parking or tickets for visit of sights and parks. One more Chinese city already began to use a blockchain account - in March, 2019 the authorities of Shenzhen implemented payment of journey on public transport using a blockchain-application. By the end of 2019 the city produced more than 10 million accounts on the basis of a blockchain. The system of drawing of accounts is used now by more than 7600 companies in the different industries, including finance and insurance, hotel service, retail and services of the parking.[1]
