2020: Application launch
At the beginning of March, 2020 the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine released the My Pol application through which citizens can call the police. The program works with Head departments of National police of areas and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The application was presented by the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Arsen Avakov in parliament. He noted that each Ukrainian will be able to use it and is urgent to contact law enforcement agencies by means of the smartphone.
The application allows to do the following:
- to quickly call patrol force through the SOS function;
- estimate work of police officers on number of a counter;
- receive the certificate of laws;
- find the nearest police stations and medical care;
- poluchat news of police.
Besides, through the application it is possible to announce offense which does not require instant departure of patrolmen. At the same time it is possible to attach photos.
Recommendations, for example, of how to behave at verification of documents, in police station, by a call of police are given in the appendix and if became the witness of crime.
For My Pol work users need to grant permission to the application for access to telephone to calls and messages for SOS call. Access to geodata which can be opened at will is necessary for position fix by SOS call.
Access to photos and multimedia is required for adding of a photo to the user account. Access to contacts is necessary for the choice of the phone number of the authorized representative from the telephone directory — he will be called if are not able to contact the user.
For work with the application it is necessary to enter the phone number, the password there and also Full name and the e-mail address. The passport number and the identification code do not need to be sent
The My Pol application is available to downloading in directories Google Play Store and App Store.[1]
