2020: Submission of the concept of the smartphone with the flexible screen

On March 6, 2020 TAdviser knew that the TCL Communication company submitted the innovation concepts of mobile devices with flexible screens: the smartphone slider with the sliding screen and the tablet developing three times. These solutions are a part of the extensive program of development of the company and result of experience of TCL in the field of development and production of screen panels.

Submitting these concepts of devices, TCL shows opportunities for development of the ideas and technologies in the field of production of folding and flexible screens. For us it is especially important to think unconventionally and to be open for innovations. In the provided form factors the screen technologies and hinged mechanisms which are already existing, developed in TCL are used. It allows us to rethink the future of development of mobile devices within our active program of research and development, told Shane Lee, the CEO of the global prodakt-center TCL Communication.

In the innovation concept of the smartphone with the sliding screen, the TCL company in a different way implements technological capabilities and advantages flexible AMOLED screens. This portable model, having thickness of only 9 mm, changes idea of standards in design of smartphones. When clicking the button the internal mechanism expands sliding AMOLED screen, increasing its diagonal from 6.75 inches to 7.8 inches. As a result of TCL represents absolutely other user experience. Possibilities of the screen and the improved interface increase efficiency in the multitasking mode. Thanks to the increased axis and the sliding screen the device has no bends and gaps which usually meet when using folding AMOLED screens. When the device is not used, the sliding panel closes the flexible screen using the innovation mechanism.

TCL Communication is also sure that the provided developments in the field of screen technologies can be applied with success not only in category of smartphones, but also in devices with big screens. The concept of the tablet developing three times provided to TCL offers prospects for development of other category of mobile devices. DragonHinge and ButterflyHinge technologies allow to put the 10-inch tablet in the 6.65-inch device with an aspect ratio 20.8:9 and with a resolution of display 3K. It is a device prototype with the big flexible screen in which two types of hinges and two methods of a bend providing smooth folding of the device inside and outside with a minimum clearance, and holographic 3D are used - the covering guarantees faultless appearance of the device.

Price information and terms of the beginning of sales of conceptual TCL devices for March, 2020 is not announced.
