2020: Fiber units are developed for communication fiber lines

The enterprises of group RTI NPK "NIIDAR of JSC company OKB-Planeta(NIIDAR) and JSC (Planet) began work on creation communication fiber line using optoelectronic elements of own development for radar stations (radar station) executed on technology of the high factory readiness (HFR). On March 12, 2020 the RTI company reported about it.

Staff of NIIDAR and the Planet jointly with specialists in the field of optoelectronics and radio photonics of the MIREA university developed and made model samples of the receiving and transferring fiber units meeting requirements imposed to the system of distribution of reference signals.

During creation of VZG radar Station the need for transfer of analog high-frequency signals on distance more than 100 meters appeared. For ensuring the coordinated work at such distance, separate elements of the active implemented phased array should be synchronized among themselves with exclusively high accuracy. The problem of implementation of a system of distribution of reference signals managed to be solved thanks to the choice of fiber lines of connection with use of modules of own development.

Application of fiber units and quartz optical fiber reduces quantity of phase delays and transmission losses of signals, reduces levels of phase noises, improves electromagnetic compatibility. Based on researches of the received modules it was established that on many characteristics they exceed the analogs existing in the world,
noted the deputy CEO for prospecting information systems of JSC RTI Makarov K.V.
