2020: Rules and the procedure of receipt with marks in the Unified State Examination

The minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination for receipt

The minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination for revenues in 2020 to the directions and programs of a bachelor degree of the University:

• on the Russian and foreign languages the minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination for participation in tender – 70 points, except for tenders on the "Public and Municipal Administration", "Management", "Trade Case" and "Ecology and Environmental Management" directions and also on the "International Law and Comparative Jurisprudence" program (together with Swiss School for International Relations, Geneva) in the Law direction on which at acceptance the minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination on the Russian and foreign languages is 60 points;

• on history, literature and geography (for revenues to the corresponding directions and programs of a bachelor degree) the minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination – 40 points, on social science – 45 points;

• on mathematics the minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination – 40 points, except for the International Economic Relations and World Economy and International Power Cooperation programs for the Economy direction for revenues to which the minimum quantity of points on mathematics is 50 points.

Besides, for participation in tender on English-language programs of a bachelor degree the following requirements to the minimum quantity of marks in the Unified State Examination are established:

• the "Policy and International Relations" and "Global Policy" programs – 80 points on a foreign language and 70 points on Russian;
• the "International Finance and Investment Management" program – 80 points on a foreign language, 70 points on Russian, 50 points on mathematics.

At acceptance on the "Diplomacy and Policy of Foreign Countries" program for the Foreign Regional Studies direction - additional professional testing (written testing) on a foreign language.

additional testing in the form of written testing on a foreign language.

Additional testing in the form of written testing on a foreign language is carried out according to the schedule from July 14 to July 17.

Results of additional tests of MGIMO are estimated on a 100-mark scale. The entrants who got less than 60 points based on additional tests (assessment below threshold), are not allowed to further participation in tender.

Entrants are allowed to additional testing on that foreign language which is handed over in the form of the USE (English, Spanish, German, French and Chinese). If the entrant has results of the USE on two and more languages, he has the right to select one of them for passing of additional testing of MGIMO.

The entrants who did not be in time for entrance tests fixed according to the schedule without valid excuse lose the right of participation in tender. Substantiating vouchers concerning absence on examination are considered only during conducting additional entrance tests (examinations of MGIMO).

Before entrance examinations for arriving consultations are held.

On all entrance tests in MGIMO use of mobile phones and other means of communication is categorically forbidden.

After the declaration of results of entrance tests the entrant has the right to study results of accomplishment of the written examination-paper by viewing in the presence of members of examination committee without further issue of the examination-paper or its copy on hands. After acquaintance with the written examination-paper the entrant in case of disagreement with the put-down mark has the right to submit the appeal. The appeal is submitted right after acquaintance with work.

Submission due dates of documents

Documents acceptance of the entrants who are arriving on training in results of the USE and also having the receipt right without entrance tests is performed from May 12 to August 18.^[1].

Application for admission and document package

Arriving submit the application for admission to MGIMO addressed to the rector of the University. Applications for admission moves electronically by means of use of services of the official site of Selection committee of MGIMO. The created electronic application is printed out and signed by the entrant with own hand. Further the application for admission with the documents attached to it should be provided to Selection committee by the entrant personally. Also electronic filing of application by the entrant directly is provided in Selection committee.

Favorites arriving acceptance tenders should be specified in the statement: the direction (directions) of preparation and the program of a bachelor degree within this direction (directions) which are implemented on the relevant departments of faculties and institutes of MGIMO. Filing of application about acceptance is provided no more than on three directions of a bachelor degree, the number of programs within the chosen direction (directions) for filing of application is not limited.

Are specified in the statement of the set sample:

• all objects of entrance tests which the entrant asks to include based on the USE (with indication of the gained marks in the Unified State Examination in the corresponding objects) for revenues to training in specific tender (tenders) of acceptance,
• subject of additional testing of MGIMO (for example: a foreign language) at revenues to the programs of a bachelor degree providing additional testing.

Are enclosed to the application:

• photocopy of the identity document arriving his nationality (or the original is shown),
• the original or photocopy of the education document and other documents set by Order of enrollment of students;
• 8 photos of 3х4 in size (black-and-white, opaque).

Entrants can apply to required documents of the copy of diplomas and certificates on participation in different competitions, tenders, the Olympic Games in addition.

On arrival to the University going personally shows to the authorized person of Selection committee the document proving his identity and nationality.

The selection committee acquaints the entrant with the following documents:

• the number of the places financed from means of the federal budget for acceptance on the chosen direction (directions) of preparation;
• the number of places with payment of training cost for acceptance on the chosen direction (directions) of preparation;
• schedule of entrance tests.

Information about submitted the application for admission is posted on the official site of Selection committee daily, since June 20.

As points are summed up

On the general tender on the direction of preparation (the program, faculty, department) the persons having higher score, gathered based on entrance tests are enlisted. The amount of the gained points join the points charged for individual achievements of arriving.

At the equal amount of the gained points on training the persons having higher point are enlisted: a) on additional entrance test of MGIMO on condition of its carrying out on the program of acceptance; b) on a foreign language; c) on obligatory entrance test (geography, history, literature, mathematics, social science) on the appropriate program of a bachelor degree; d) on Russian; e) by the number of the points added for individual achievements.

At equality of number of points by the above-stated criteria higher place in the ranged list is taken arriving, having the privilege of transfer set by the current legislation.

Transfer

Transfer in MGIMO is made on a competitive basis on the basis of the solution of Selection committee based on the entrance tests which are carried out in the form of the USE and additional entrance tests on condition of providing the original document by the entrant about education and its written consent to transfer.

The procedure of transfer is preceded by the declaration no later than July 27 on the official site of Selection committee of MGIMO of the ranged lists of the lists arriving on all tenders of acceptance with formation in them:

• arriving without entrance tests,
• arriving within a special quota and
• successfully undergone competitive selection.

For selection lists recommended for transfer on the different bases and conditions of acceptance appear in the ranged lists of the most capable and prepared for mastering educational programs of entrants and for informing all arriving about results of the held competition.

The ranged list (lists) forms in the following sequence:

1. Within target figures separate lists of arriving form:

• on places within a special quota;
• on the main places within target figures.

2. The list arriving on each separate tender includes the list arriving without entrance tests and the list of the arriving based on the USE and/or entrance tests. Transfer based on entrance tests is carried out on the places which were left after transfer without entrance tests within the corresponding list of arriving.

3. The list arriving without entrance tests is ranged on the following bases: a) on the status of the persons having the right to acceptance without entrance tests in the following order:

• members of national teams of the Russian Federation and members of national teams of Ukraine specified in Subparagraph 2 of point 33 of the Order of enrollment of students;
• winners of the All-Russian Olympic Games of school students and winners of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian student's Olympic Games specified in Subparagraph 2 of point 33 of the Order of enrollment of students;
• prize-winners of the All-Russian Olympic Games of school students and prize-winners of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian student's Olympic Games specified in Subparagraph 2 of point 33 of the Order of enrollment of students;
• winners of the Olympic Games of school students;
• prize-winners of the Olympic Games of school students;

b) for the persons stated above - on decrease of number of the points added for individual achievements;

c) at equality by the listed criteria higher place in the list is taken by the transfers arriving, having privilege.

4. The list arriving based on entrance tests is ranged on the following bases:

• on decrease of the amount of competitive points;
• at equality of the amount of competitive points - on decrease of number of the points added based on separate entrance tests according to priority of entrance tests.

The amount of competitive points is calculated as score for each entrance test and also for individual achievements.

The following data are specified in the lists arriving:

1) on everyone arriving based on entrance tests:

• amount of competitive points;
• the number of points for each entrance test;
• the number of points for individual achievements;
• existence of privilege of transfer;

2) existence of the statement for consent to transfer and original document (documents) of arriving.

The ranged lists of entrants in all directions, programs, forms, conditions and the bases for transfer are daily updated in process of submission of originals of documents and statements for consent to transfer by the persons recommended for transfer on the corresponding conditions and the bases of acceptance, and transfer of the categories stated above arriving according to the terms provided below.

For transfer arriving without fail submits the application for consent to transfer to which at revenues to places within target figures the original document of the set sample is enclosed, at revenues to places under agreements on rendering paid educational services – the original document of the set sample, or its copy certified in accordance with the established procedure or its copy with presentation of the original for assurance of the copy by Selection committee.

Conditions of receipt and the basis of acceptance according to which arriving wants to be enlisted are specified in the statement for consent to transfer.

The specified statement is certified by the signature of arriving and moves no later than day of completion of reception of applications about consent to transfer.

Terms of submission of originals of documents and statements for consent to transfer and transfers following:

On August 1 - completion of submission of the original document about education and statements for consent to transfer by the persons which successfully passed entrance tests and recommended for transfer on different conditions and the bases of acceptance including on places with payment of training cost, at the first stage of transfer on the general tender;

On August 3 – the publication of the order on transfer of the specified persons who timely submitted applications for consent to transfer and originals of documents before filling of 80% of the main competitive budget places and also on places with payment of training cost;

On August 6 – completion of submission of the original document about education and statements for consent to transfer by the persons which successfully passed entrance tests and recommended for transfer at the second stage of transfer on the general tender for budget places and also on the remaining vacant paid positions;

On August 8 – the publication of the order on transfer of the specified persons who timely submitted applications for consent to transfer and originals of documents before filling of 100% of competitive places.

Submit within the above-stated terms arriving also originals of the documents certifying their special rights at receipt and advantages, including originals of diplomas of winners (prize-winners) of the profile Olympic Games of school students.

The persons included in the ranged list arriving, recommended for transfer on different conditions and the bases of acceptance, not provided (taken away) the original document about education at the scheduled time, and/or not agreed timely to transfer, leave tender and are considered as refused transfer.

Paid training

Transfer of the persons entering on training MGIMO at a contractual basis is carried out on the same bases, as on training at the expense of means of the federal budget, and on the conditions provided by contractual commitments.

Signing of the contracts on paid training is performed based on tender in the terms set by Selection committee. Signing of the contract requires personal presence arriving and one of parents or legal representatives.
