2020: Implementation of t-rail
On April 3, 2020 IBA Group reported that it together with Track maintenance of GO "Belarusian Railroad" successfully completed a pilot project on monitoring of temperature of rail lashes using t-rail. It is a hardware and software system which traces temperature of rails in real time and notifies users on approach of critical conditions. A system was tested in operating conditions. The base station of t-rail was set on a lighting mast at the station Minsk-sorting at the height of 20 m from ground level. Temperature sensors placed at distance from 600 to 2500 m from the base station.
Tests lasted three months and showed that a system works. Sensors determined temperatures of rails and transferred them to a management system where data were processed and archived. All users who entered into test group received SMS notifications at approach of critical temperature conditions in time. The rain, snow and a frost and also noises from aimings of contact network, a train and shunting radio communication did not affect operability of elements of a system.
