Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) E590 и E790
On December 9, 2020 the Hitachi Vantara company announced expansion of a lineup Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform of series E models of the average level VSP E590 and E790 entirely based on a flash memory and NVMe.
According to the company, in the updated series E the intellectual built-in management tools allowing to simplify all aspects of operation of solutions of series E from fast installation before the automated configuring and intellectual performance management are implemented. For the clients planning larger infrastructures and needing more perfect end-to-end analytics, also provide to coordination of workflows and automation of the VSP system of series E compatibility with the software of management of a corporate class of Hitachi Ops Center.
VSP E590 and E790 models represent the platforms of a form factor 2U providing the proper performance and level of simplicity thanks to the integrated data protection and abilities to manage with copying of data for security and simpler daily data management. In them the same SVOS RF operating system, as in the VSP 5000 series, for reduction of amount of data and optimization of efficiency is used.
The Advanced Data Reduction (ADR) technology based on artificial intelligence in a product line of Hitachi VSP of series E optimizes efficiency of use of capacity.

On April 22, 2020 the Hitachi Vantara company presented solution Hitachi Virtual Storage Platform (VSP) E990 – the platform of data storage for mid-scale businesses.
As noted in Hitachi Vantara, the high performances and low delays shown by E990 platform allow to provide maximum efficiency of business applications, and industry-leading opportunities of deduplication of data guarantee cost reduction on DWH. The powerful management system of Hitachi Ops Center based on the artificial intelligence (AI) is capable to simplify configuring and providing resources of storage for the AI systems, machine learning and containerized applications. E990 platform in combination with Hitachi Ops Center provides as a part of family of the solutions Hitachi Vantara for medium-sized enterprises option of DWH entirely based on NVMe flash memory. It complements the wide range of powerful infrastructure solutions which have high performance and provide an absolute guarantee of data availability for business of any scale.
The company also announced program system of EverFlex from Hitachi Vantara which provides the simple and flexible choice of options of acquisition for E990 platform and all complex of the solutions Hitachi Vantara. EverFlex includes different pricing models on the basis of the actual consumption, from a simple payment for use of products before the configured services with payment depending on the end result and the "Storage System as Service" model.
According to forecasts, amounts of data will increase by 23%, and budgets of the companies on data storage will increase on average only by 10% therefore solutions on reducing costs of DWH will be necessary for mid-size companies. The provided Hitachi VSP E990 platform with the solution Hitachi Ops Center provides high rates of deduplication of data – 4:1 that twice exceeds possibilities of the closest competitor of the company and guarantees release to 75% of capacity of DWH, claim in Hitachi Vantara.
As industry experts from analytical company 451 Research believe, 43% of buyers of DWH are not ready to satisfy the growing needs for the future. The platform uses architecture entirely based on a non-volatile memory (NVMe) and has high rates of IOPS at low price (no more than $0.03 for input-output operation per second) and also the ultralow delays optimized for the most exacting applications to resources.
The presented solution EverFlex expands the choice of available pricing models on the basis of the actual consumption, providing predictability of the prices when using storages by analogy with cloud services. First of all it, according to the developer, will allow customers to pay only the used components and to bring expenses on technologies into accord with commercial use, providing economy of costs to 20% due to elimination of need to pay for the backup capacity necessary in each system.
