2020: Equipment by satellite communication of 19 courts

On April 23, 2020 it became known that the international service -provider Orange Business Services completed equipment satellite communication of 19 vessels of group "Sovcomflot", the Arctic and Far East sea basins working in difficult climatic and ice conditions. This step will allow to increase safety of navigation in addition.

At the first stage of cooperation Orange Business Services in the summer of 2019 connected to the satellite communication system of 8 vessels of the partner, at the second stage in 2020 uninterrupted communication provided 11 more courts.

Thanks to the Orange system allowing to switch automatically between different satellites and shore stations of communication, stability of communication increased up to 98-99% that is a high rate for the Arctic and subarctic latitudes.

Sovcomflot uses the satellite Orange Business Services system for transfer on the coast of telemetered informations which arrive from the systems of remote diagnostics of the equipment and remote operational control which are earlier implemented in courts behind a navigation situation. The Orange system allows to perform such real-time transport at any distance from the coast, thereby considerably promoting increase in security and efficiency of courts.

Besides, vessels of Sovcomflot were integrated into all-corporate IT infrastructure. Filtering of Internet traffic and security of networks in courts are promoted by the double system of firewalls. Uninterrupted satellite communication provides an opportunity in case of need to implement telemedicine solutions in courts that is very relevant in the conditions of a pandemic.
