Customers: Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA)

Information technologies

Contractors: KPMG International

Project date: 2020/04

On April 22, 2020, it became known that the US Department of Defense Information Systems Protection Agency (DISA) signed a contract with KPMG to create a unified military account management system.

KPMG will have to create a prototype system that includes cloud and local access and account management software. It will protect the agency's computer systems and the information stored on them from unauthorized access. In addition, it is planned to introduce additional administration tools that will allow you to more effectively track the facts of access to data.

The project will be implemented with the participation of UberEther, as well as using commercial software from vendors such as Ping Identity, SailPoint and Radiant Logic.

The new system of identification, access control and credentials will include existing authorization systems and, ultimately, can be adopted by other structures belonging to the US Department of Defense, the contractor said.

To cooperate with KPMG, the agency used a type of contract called the Other Transaction Authority (OTA). It was created in order to save the Ministry of Defense from the bureaucratic red tape created by public procurement regulations. By providing the flexibility of commercial contracts, OTA provides easier access to innovative technologies in the market.

DISA is not the only state customer for KPMG. In January 2020, the company entered into a contract with the US General Services Administration. In addition, she will become one of the suppliers of technological solutions for the US Department of Housing and Urban Development as part of a project to update the mortgage application processing system, the total cost of which will be $127 million.[1]
