2020: Installation of an intelligent system at crosswalks
On April 25, 2020 ISS announced installation in Veliky Novgorod of the intelligent system directed to increase in security of non-regulated crosswalks. As the initiator of a pilot project the Ministry of Transport, road economy and digital development of the Novgorod region acted.
A system is installed on one of the accident rate centers in Veliky Novgorod — the crosswalk through Pskovskaya St. at the intersection from st. on March 8.
A system not only performs static illumination of a zone of the crosswalk, but also provides continuous light maintenance of the people passing the crosswalk into night-time. Dynamic illumination continuously accompanies the movement of the pedestrian and in advance draws attention of the driver, warning him about presence of the person on the carriageway. Thus, a system considerably increases safety of pedestrians, reducing the probability of zoom-in of cars on them.
Irrespective of a trajectory of the movement of the pedestrian, the intelligent system monitors his movement and provides light maintenance as soon as the person appears within the crosswalk.
