2020: Start of a network online magistracy on robotics

On May 14, 2020 the Perm National Research Polytechnical University (PNRPU) announced start of a network online magistracy on robotics. Students will be able to master competences from every spot on the globe. Will be trained on robots of Promobot company. After the successful termination of the program students will gain the diploma of a magistracy.

For May, 2020 this direction actively develops and the need for specialists of this area only grows. Besides, it is the project of network interaction between universities. Here concentrated forces of three leading engineering universities of the country. And, of course, the format is interesting – will be trained completely in the online mode. Modern technologies without effort allow us to replace physical contact with remote, and remote laboratories — on virtual.

Nikolay Lobov, the vice rector for study of PNIPU noted

We offer students a magistracy when the person in real time listens to lectures, asks questions and gets advice of the teacher, only all this occurs online. Specially under the program in the Perm Polytechnic University the laboratory for remote accomplishment by students of practical tasks is created. In it there will be robots of Promobot company and also environment elements which are necessary for navigation of the robot, accomplishment of test tasks. Thus, studying at real service robots, students will be able to receive base of necessary knowledge, beginning from operation of servo actuators which are used for the movement of the robot, finishing with functioning of pattern recognition systems and speeches.

Igor Bezukladnikov, the associate professor "Automatic equipment and telemechanics" of PNIPU told

As it was reported, thanks to support of edge administration, it will be possible to study service robotics free of charge. Reception of applications starts since June 20, 2020. It is possible to file documents through electronic information system PNIPU. This year 10 contract places financed from the edge budget are planned.

Three universities worked on the curriculum of the program: Perm Polytechnic University, St. Petersburg state electrotechnical university and Kazan aviation institute. Everything students is expected by 24 rates, each of which is assigned to one of universities. In particular, in LETI future specialists in robotics will learn to develop pattern recognition systems for independent service robots, to make digital signal processing in robotics entity management systems and also will master a professional foreign language.

Teachers of the Kazan aviation institute will train students in work with electronic devices of independent service robots. The Perm Polytechnic University will provide to students the greatest number of rates - 16. For example, undergraduates will teach to perform social and humanitarian examination of robotic projects.

Here our task will be to teach the engineer to a technique of socially responsible design of technologies. Special attention will be paid to ethical aspects of social robotics here. Philosophers, psychologists, sociologists and engineers - from here and cross-disciplinary character took part in development of a rate.

Elena Seredkina, the head of "Human-computer Interaction and Assessment of Technologies" rate, the associate professor of philosophy and the right of PNIPU told
