Clara Guardian framework as a part of the platform for problems of health care of Nvidia Clara
On May 14, 2020 the NVIDIA company declared expansion of opportunities of the platform for problems of health care of NVIDIA Clara to help medical community better to diagnose and treat COVID-19. The framework of NVIDIA Clara Guardian opens access to a crucial ecosystem of solutions AI for security of the population and monitoring of patients by replacement of the used sensors by smart. Automatic temperature measurement of a body, detection of wearing protective masks, determination of observance of a distance and remote monitoring of patients belongs to important scenarios of use. Product output to the market
In the middle of May, 2020 Nvidia announced start of an AI system for smart hospitals Clara Guardian which monitors temperature of patients and controls operation of the equipment in operating rooms. Clara Guardian and the similar systems, such as AnyVision and Care.ai, are already developed in 50 hospitals in such countries as China, France, Italy and Israel, and help to control about 10,000 hospital chambers.
Using the smart video analysis and automatic speech recognition of Clara Guardian allows smart hospitals of new generation to execute monitoring of the key vital indicators of patients at the minimum employee involvement. In the conditions of a pandemic of a coronavirus of COVID-19 Clara Guardian estimates temperature of patients, uses computer vision in real time for control of social distancing and provides contactless monitoring of patients.
Nvidia considers that smart hospitals can reduce risk of spread of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. 'If we are able to use new technologies in hospitals, it incredibly will help health workers', - noted the vice president of Nvidia in the field of health care Kimberly Powell.
The company claims that the general Nvidia Clara platform integrating AI and means of acceleration of calculations will help researchers and medical institutions to fight against COVID-19 pandemic by new fast methods. In particular, Nvidia Clara Parabricks showed to software the record speed of sequencing of a genome. To researchers, whose work is connected with COVID-19, the company offers the 90-day free license on it to software.
Nvidia also reported that it develops the DGX A100 supercomputer for Argonnsky national laboratory which is a consortium member of high-performance computing for studying of COVID-19. The supercomputer will carry out modeling to estimate molecular interactions and assessment of a genome.[1]
